After months of waiting for a new custom firmware that would decrypt games automatically the PSP GEN team has released their newest firmware PSP 5.50 Gen-D. PSP 5.50 Gen-D play games that needs 5.55 or 6.0 official firmwares. NO NEED for patching because 5.50 Gen-D already contains the decryptor needed to play newer games. This new firmware plays all other PSP ISOs just like your old firmwares plus it also plays patched and non-patched newest games like Gran Turismo, G.I. Joe, Smackdown VS Raw 2010, NBA 2K10 and many more! Download this update and save yourself from doing the hassle from patching these games. It's like having an original 5.55 or 6.0 firmware that already plays ISOs.

Requirements:
A PSP with custom firmware GEN-B2 aka Gen-B(full)
(sorry for PSP 3000 and slim with TAv3 mobo)
If you have a lower firmware than 5.50 Gen-B2 (line 5.0 m33, 3.71 m33, etc.) you could upgrade to 5.50 Gen-B first. Then upgrade to PSP Gen-B2.

After upgrading to Gen-B you could use the updater for Gen-B2

copy the folder named "5.50-genB2-update" to ms0:/PSP/GAME
IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE 5.50 GEN-B2 aka 5.50 GEN-B(FULL) DO NOT UPDATE STRAIGHT TO GEN-D IF YOU ONLY HAVE 5.50 GEN-B.
Now that you have Gen-B2 it's time to upgrade to 5.50 Gen-D
1. Download the update files here:

2. Extract the files using winrar.
3. Connect your PSP via the USB.
4. Copy 550.pbp at at the root of your memory stick or ms0:/
5. Copy the folder named "UPDATE" to ms0:/PSP/GAME
6. Disconnect your PSP from the PC.
7. Using the PSP, go to the game menu and select Gen-D updater
8. Follow the on-screen instructions.
9. Congratulations! You now have a PSP with custom firmware 5.50 Gen-D. You could play all your old ISO files as well as the newer games! No need to patch or downloading the patched version!
10. YOU COULD ALSO UPDATE TO GEN-D2 after installing gen-D!

turn your PSP off (HOLD THE POWER BUTTON FOR A FEW SECS UNTIL IT POWERS DOWN)
the before you turn it on, HOLD R and put it on.
CHOOSE CONFIGURATION
change UMD MODE> M33 DRIVER -NO UMD-

i already have 5.50 gen-b full on my fat psp1001, followed all instructions like copying 550.PBP at root and the UPDATE folder to my GAME folder. But when I run the GEN-D update, the MS reads for about 10 seconds and stops but the screen stays black... What's wrong MR. Precious.... tnx! in advance
Try redownloading GEN-B2 and run the update again to make sure you have 5.50 gen-b2. i have experienced the same problem, but running the update files for gen-b2 solved my problems. I hope this also work for you.. THANK YOU
yes it's working now.... a bit confusing from GEN-B FULL to GEN-B2 because it shows the same as GEN-B (FULL) in the system properties.... I'm in GEN-D now but please add/upload the new Custom Firmware 5.50GEN-D2 MR. PRECIOUS.... TNX

there are some bugs in gen-D. However if u feel ok with gen-D then it's your choice.. I recommend GEN-d2 coz it's much stable than GEN-d

paste your game on the ISO folder of your memory card that is: ms0:/ISO/

Rename your game to something shorter like naruto.iso

you can upgrade to gen-a then gen-b, gen-b2 then gen-d and gen-d2
mr precious, i followed every step u taught, and the installation also appears complete. but when restarts it just hang up on loading. when i pressed select theres a menu saying 5.51 vsh menu and then cpu clock xmb. etc..reset device, and exit. and when i reset the devise same thing happened. please help.
